Cardio Tennis, a highly successful tennis/fitness program that has reached around the globe, recently received media attention from The New York Times, with an article appearing in the travel section titled "Tennis Meets Obstacle Course," by Kathleen McElroy.
McElroy highlights the fact that Cardio Tennis is focused on the fitness aspect by keeping participants moving, rather than focusing on tennis strokes. Cardio Tennis, she writes, "promotes movement while on a court while keeping instruction and angst at a minimum. Think of it as playing at tennis."
McElroy mentions that music is an important part of Cardio Tennis, and that the ultimate goal isn't winning points or games, but that "losing weight is the triumph." She writes that Cardio Tennis helps participants "kick-start weight loss" by "chasing down a drop shot with [the song] 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' playing courtside."
Cardio Tennis has been gaining in popularity and in the attention it’s been receiving, not just in the U.S., but worldwide. From this past April to May, traffic at www.CardioTennis.com has increased 70%, and is up more than 300% since the same month a year ago. Recent articles have appeared in print and online publications with a readership of 9 million and 40 million monthly unique visitors.
