40th Annual Tennis Teacher's Conference
The 40th year of the USTA Tennis Teacher’s conference is set to kick off on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 at the Grand Hyatt New York. Guests will be welcomed to the event with an opening reception from 7-8 PM in the Ballroom Foyer.
The opening session will include up and coming tennis star Melanie Oudin, as well as tennis greats Pam Shriver and Cliff Dyrsdale as they discuss “The Evolution of the Game.” Throughout the conference there will be multiple sessions focusing on improved coaching and the delivery of tennis, as well as a resource center open to all attendees to see the latest products and offerings from a variety of tennis businesses and organizations. 4th Annual TIA Tennis Forum
Held in conjunction with the 40th Annual USTA Tennis Teachers Conference, the Forum will present the latest news about the state of the tennis industry, including participation growth, equipment sales data, grassroots initiatives and more. Importantly, the Forum will outline pathways to increasing the number of frequent players in the U.S., ways to better define and boost the economic growth and impact of the tennis industry, and effective ways to distribute clear, consistent messaging of health, fitness and the reasons to play tennis. In addition, the TIA will have the 3rd Annual Hall of Fame Induction during the Tennis Forum.
USPTA Announces World Conference Speakers
Nick Bollettieri, Rick Macci, John Yandell, Todd Ellenbecker, Allen Fox, Tom Gorman, Page Love, Martin Baroch and Mark Kovacs are among the speakers to be featured at the USPTA’s World Conference on Tennis Sept. 27 to Oct. 2 at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif. The conference will feature more than 40 seminars and courses, the USPTA’s International Tennis Championships, a tennis-only buying show, silent auction, nighttime parties, awards presentation and more. In addition, the National Cardio Tennis Feeding Shootout finals will be held at the conference on October 1.
PTR Development Weekend Oct. 7-10 in Orlando
The PTR’s Professional Development Weekend will be Oct. 7-10 (Thursday to Sunday) at the Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Fla., and will feature more than 20 presentations and specialty courses for tennis teachers. The professional development weekend includes excellent topics such as Cardio Tennis for Kids, Top 20 Drills and Games, Coaching League Doubles, QuickStart, Training Advanced Juniors and more.
NRPA Congress & Exposition: Oct. 25-29 in Minneapolis, MN
The 2010 NRPA Congress and Exposition will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This year the NRPA is focused on "Connecting Communities." This exposition presents a great networking and educational opportunity for those associated with parks and recreation operations in their community.
'Soar Like an Eagle’ Author to Keynote ASBA
Internationally recognized speaker Robert Stevenson, author of the best-selling book “How to Soar Like an Eagle in a World Full of Turkeys,” will be the keynote speaker at the ASBA Technical Meeting, which will be Dec. 4-7 at the Marriott Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

25th Annual ITA Coaches Convention set for Dec. 16-19, 2010.
Every year since 1985 the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has held the ITA Coaches Convention. This annual event draws more than 300 men's and women's tennis coaches from various size college programs. Clinics, panel discussions, a trade show, and an awards banquet headline the agenda for the conference, as well as the ITA's annual Board of Director and Operating Committee Sessions. The Naples Grande beach Resort in Naples, Florida will be the host for this year's convention.
